PROGEL -10
As an anti-gel universal concrete additive, it prevents fresh concrete from freezing, by increasing the heat of hydration.
Usage Areas
Used for concreting at low temperatures up to -10°C. Used for concreting when frost is forecasted for the night.
Technical Data
Type : Calcium nitrate basedForm : LiquidColor : Dark BrownDensity : 1,25 kg/ltBome : 30Ph : 8Freezing Point : -18°C
Advantages
It does not cause any damage for rebar because it does not contain calcium chlorure. It is not corrosive.
Application
Preferably PROGEL -10 is added to mixing water, or it is poured into concrete mixer simultaneously with mixing water. It is not recommended to be added to solid (dry) mixture. Subsequently, the usual process recommended for a good concrete production is carried on. Adding PROGEL -10 provides a more plastic and fluid concrete. It becomes easier to process. water/cement ratio decreases. Early (initial) strength is provided. Final pressure and pull-out resistance (tensile strength) increase. Cement, aggregate and water must be protected from freeze and there must not be any ice particles in water and aggregate. water must be heated if necessary. The temperature of fresh concrete must not be lower than +5°C. To keep the heat hydration constant, the concrete must be covered especially at windy locations. It must not be used on thin and outdoor concrete elements. A lowest water/cement ratio is recommended. Portland cement must be used in production. Wooden mould must be preferred.
Cleaning Of The Tools
The equipment can be cleaned with water and soap immediately after use.
Consumption
+5°C to -5°C; 1% of cement weight. -5°C to -10°C; 2% of cement weight. Using a greater amount of antifreeze is not helpful in concreting at temperatures lower than -10°C.
