Usage Areas

POWLOG, is used as a waterproofing admixture at interior and exterior cement based coatings, at under-tile compounds of bathrooms, kitchens and balconies, in rendering and floating coats required to be water repellent, or to possess controlled suction; in precast and in-site concretes; in pointing, at building constructions, tanks, roofs, reservoirs, cast stone, basement walls, swimming pools, inspection pits, sewage works, floor, conduits, cellars, garages, pits, walls, renderings particularly backing coats of white or coloured cement finished pools.

Effect

During setting of cement based products, water soluble salts appear. Hydrofobic chemicals in powlog enter into reaction with these salts and water and form unsoluble crystals. These crystals plug the capillary pores and provide an absolutely waterproof but breathing structure.

Advantages

POWLOG is completely non-toxic. It is very easy to apply. Is intended for practical use under ordinary conditions of building construction. Has all the essential properties to waterproof concrete / sand-cement rendering.POWLOG will not be affected of lime. POWLOG is most economical as the quantity required is just 0,65% of the cement used. Transport expenses are as low as they can be disregarded. Through waterproofing, it also provides thermal insulation as 5% humidity in any material, decreases the thermal insulation value of the material about 30%). Does not contain chlorides. Protects the reinforcement of concrete against corrosion. For easiest dosing, powlogis packed in pouches suitable to use each with one 50 kg package of cement. POWLOG Does not affect the setting time of standard portland cement.

Application

Mix the contents of the pouch throughly with the content of a 50 kg bag of cement and the appropriate amount of sand(or aggregate) befor adding water. POWLOG should be mixed thoroughly with the cement before the cement is mixed with aggregate. Concrete should contain not less than 300 kg cement per cubic metre; often a richer mix is necessary. Use clean potable water. When the finished coat has hardened off, care should be taken to keep the surface moist in dry weather. Usual precautions should be taken to see that all coats are properly protected from the effect of adverse weather conditions.

Cleaning Of The Tools

The cleaning of the tools is accomplished with water just after the usage but mechanically after it dried.

Consumption

1 Pouch (330 g) of POWLOG to every 50 kg. of cement.

**Example: only 40 g of POWLOG is necessary to render 1 m2 of a 2 cm thick plaster with 300 kg/m3 cement content.

Storage and Shelf Life

Unlimited shelf life if stored in a cool and dry place
